In March of 2017, the United Nations published a report that concluded Israel as an Apartheid Regime titled, “Israeli Practices towards the Palestinian People and the Question of Apartheid”. The report concluded that Israel has created a regime that oppresses and dominates the Palestinian people as whole summarizing it,
“Aware of the seriousness of this allegation, the authors of the report conclude that available evidence establishes beyond a reasonable doubt that Israel is guilty of policies and practices that constitute the crime of apartheid as legally defined in instruments of international law.”
The report created international controversy, leading to the retraction of the report. The UN was pressured from veto states like the US to take down the paper. The US ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, openly disapproved the report. As a result, the UN Under-Secretary General Rima Khalaf refused to retract the paper and resigned her position forcing the next Under-Secretary General to retract the paper.
Since then, the UN report has been difficult to find online so I decided to upload the report here at The Peace Report for anyone to view with their own eyes. Read the full UN report here.
Just before the UN report was published, I was in the West Bank of Palestine on a Veterans For Peace (VFP) delegation. The delegation was comprised of several prominent antiwar activists and VFP members. From former CIA analyst Ray McGovern to former Foreign Service Officer Matt Hoh to prominent Palestinian activist and author Miko Peled, along with several other important VFP members. You can read the final report of the VFP delegation here.
The Peace Report is in the process of publishing short documentaries of the delegation’s visit highlighting examples of how the apartheid state oppresses and dominates the people of Palestine. Here are a few videos for now, more will be published on The Peace Report YouTube channel.
Tear gassed in Hebron:
Veterans For Peace joined the popular resistance in Palestine against the Occupation on the 23rd anniversary of the Ibrahimi Mosque Massacre, or sometimes called the Cave of Patriarchs Massacre. 23 years ago Baruch Goldstein, an American-Jewish Settler in Israel, opened fire on a large number of Palestinians, leaving 29 dead, several as young as 12, and 125 wounded. Many Israeli settlers still to this day continue to laud him as a hero. The state of Israel has been illegally occupying Palestine for over seven decades, committing human rights violations and war crimes. Despite Palestinians having a majority population and living in the area for thousands of years, the Israeli military continues to oppress the people as well as Israeli settlers spreading their territories over what's left of Palestinian land. The U.S. has supported this oppression by selling military equipment to Israel as well as giving financial aid, now $3.8 billion every year. Veterans For Peace opposes war in all of its manifestations, including this atrocious occupation against the Palestinians.

Israeli settler punches woman in the face:
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. At a peaceful protest in Nabi Saleh in the West Bank Palestine, Veterans For Peace gathered with local Palestinians to protest the occupation in an empty area near a creek. We hadn't been there 10 minutes when Israeli settlers showed up armed with guns and attacked us. This man pulled up fast, got out of his car and immediately punched a woman in the face, then attacked Veteran Michael Hanes. The settlers tried to run over us with their cars, spit in people's faces, and attacked a number of women not just her. These people were so cowardly, they went after the women and cameramen, and were the only ones armed. They do this frequently and can get away with it as they're protected by the Israeli military and apartheid laws. This will all be shown soon, but wanted to get this clip out immediately. YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO, share this video and make this scumbag famous.Filmed by Chris Smiley for Veterans For Peace.YouTube version: https://youtu.be/nwi5G6lQvcc
