Two Talks Every Organizer Needs to Hear

Two talks I found helpful when it comes to organizing.

1. Jane McAlevey is an organizer, author and scholar. She spoke at the Millennium Library about the need to move from mobilizing activists to organizing working people where they live and work. Her second book, No Shortcuts: Organizing for Power in the New Gilded Age, helps organizers learn how to do this.

2. Vince Emanuele is an Iraq veteran and community organizer in Michigan City, Indiana, his talk is broken down into three parts:
A. Why the Left doesn’t talk about organizing or vision
B. Three different approaches to community organizing
C. Personal experience organizing in Northwest Indiana
